General Meeting Information

 

Social time :The meeting place is open 30 minutes prior to the meeting for social time and for people to visit various tables and take care of business. (Please see the link above for Chapters to see monthly meeting information). The following activities or services are available to members:

 

		Quilters Library - books, videos etc. available for one month check out.  There are two libraries, one for the Day Chapter and one for the evening.  The libraries are rotated every six month.
		Stencil Library - stencil patterns available for one month checkout.
		Magazine sales - Used quilting related magazines donated by members are available for purchase.  The cost is $.25 and the money is used to buy new books for the library.
		Pattern sales - used patterns donated by members are sold for a $1.00 and the money is donated to the Virginia Quilt Museum.
		Block of the Month - Every month there is a new block kit that can be purchased.  Finished blocks can be returned the next month.  These blocks are entered in a drawing and 1-3 persons take home enough blocks to make a quilt
		Fat Quarters - Members can bring up to two fat quarters (18" x 23") fabrics that are related to the monthly theme.  Members names are entered in the evening's drawing for bundles of fat quarters.  Some are held back for a quarterly drawing.  In the quarterly drawing everyone who brought in fat quarters has a chance to win all the fabric held back from the monthly drawings.
		6" squares - Members bring  6" squares of quilting fabric on the monthly theme.  The Day Chapter requires 21 squares and Night Chapter requires 24 squares. The next month the member receives the same number of squares back, but they have a mixture of all fabrics turned in.  All fabric should be washed and selvages cut off before being cut into squares.
		2 1/2" Strips - Purchase 1 yeard of quilter's 100% cotton. Do not wash, but do cut a straight edge. Cut strips 2 1/2" wide from selvage to selvage to get 14 strips. follow the monthly theme and place strips in a plastic bag with your name, TQG # and phone #. You will recieve a variety pack of that theme next month.
		Membership table - members may join the guild at this table and receive membership packets.
		Sign in table - Everyone must sign in and receive a ticket for the door prize drawings.
		Various other tables are available during the year as our program dictates.  Examples: Raffle quilt tickets, Class sign ups, etc.
