Founded in 1979, the Tidewater Quilters Guild is a group of people who gather together on a regular basis to discuss the latest trends and the time honored traditions of quilting. The Guild offers two monthly meetings to meet the needs of busy schedules at all skill levels. Day meetings are held the first Monday of every month, except for holidays. The Day Chapter meets at 10:00 am.at Azalea Baptist Church, Little Creek Rd. in Norfolk. The Night Chapter meets the second Monday of the month, except for holidays. The Night chapter meets at 7:00 p.m. at Community United Methodist Chruch, 1072 Old Kempsville Rd., Virginia Beach, Va. Both meetings feature planned programs which may include a speaker, slide presentation, trunk show or mini-workshop on a specific topic.
Membership is open to anyone 16 or older interested in the art of quiltmaking. Guests are welcome to attend one meeting and encouraged to join when attending their second. To ensure the enjoyment of all of our members, children under the age of 12 are not permitted at meetings.

Our Mission if to provide educational programs and workshops in various techniques relative to the needs of those interested in the art of quiltmaking and similar arts.

Objectives:

  • Preserve the tradition of quiltmaking
  • Increase knowledge of the appreciation for the art of quilting
  • Provide educational programs and workshops to promote interest in the art of quilting.
